Case Packing & Shipping
Careful packaging protects your case and ensures accurate, timely results.
If models are damaged in transit, it can compromise the fit of the prosthetic, creating delays and extra work for both you and your patient.
Case Shipping Guidelines
To guarantee your cases arrive safely and on time, please follow these packaging and shipping recommendations:
1 Use clean packaging:
Remove any old shipping labels or stickers from reused boxes to prevent delivery delays or routing errors.
2 Disinfect and protect materials:
Disinfect all case items before packing. Place them in a sealed plastic bag, then wrap each model separately with bubble wrap or soft foam to prevent chips, cracks, or distortion—especially important for wax-ups.
3 Fill empty space:
Add enough bubble wrap or padding to eliminate movement inside the box. A snug fit minimizes the risk of damage during transit.
4 Packing articulators and facebows:
If possible, remove the models and wrap each component individually.
If the models must stay on the articulator, separate the articulator into parts, wrap each section securely, and stabilize them inside the box. Wrap the facebow and other attachments separately.
5 Alginate impressions:
Place the lab prescription (Rx) in its own sealed bag to keep it dry. Attach it to the appropriate case bag before shipping.
6 Loose items (crowns, bridges, shade tabs):
Store these in a small container or sealed plastic bag labeled with the patient’s name. Staple or attach the bag to the Rx to prevent loss or mix-up.
7 Photos and slides:
Enclose any photos, slides, or reference materials in a sealed plastic bag for protection.
8 Multiple cases in one box:
Package each case separately in its own bag to keep components organized and ensure accurate identification upon arrival.
